It started with a simple problem. Every time I needed to pick a new tool — whether for SEO, writing, or productivity — I'd search for reviews and find the same thing: long, overly positive write-ups from sites that clearly never used the product. Some were affiliate farms. Others were just copying specs from the product page.

After wasting money on tools that didn't deliver what the reviews promised, I decided to start documenting my own findings. TheMarketPicks began as private notes. Which tools actually saved time. Which ones were bloated and overpriced. Which free alternatives were just as good.

Eventually those notes became a blog. And the one rule I set from day one was simple: we only review tools we've actually used, and we always say what we really think — including the parts that aren't great.
